Neither Puntland nor Somaliland has the word in Erigavo. The city self-governs without any interference from outside.
What i dislike about the city is that the Four-Clan based system functions only on a local level in the event a land dispute or violence erupts. The elders or clan committee can quickly intervene first to end the abnormality and then proceed with their ruling based on the written convention and constitution of the city.
There has been several incidents whereby a clan-based militia clashed with another militia aimed at lessening any intruder from Hargeisa or Garowe.
The city has really decayed at a rapid pace because of the conflict and hostility between the Harti and Isaaq.
Other cities like Badhan, Dhahar and LaasQorey, have thriven at a regional level and are now more prosperous and advanced than Erigavo.

What are you talking about! The majority of the population in the city is pro-Somaliland. Furthermore, the Somaliland election was held in Erigabo, and the election went as smooth as expected. In fact, UDUB, KULMIYE, and UCID parties all campaigned in Sanaag region. And you are till trying to tell me that Somaliland doesn’t rule the city.

Understandably, it is hard for you to admit Eriagabo city which is home to oponents of Somaliland's independence is ruled by Somaliland.

So, in that case, saying the city is not controlled by Somaliland or Puntiland is a soothing voice to guide you through your meditation.

The city has really decayed at a rapid pace because of the conflict and hostility between the Harti and Isaaq.
There has never bee reported conflicts between Isaaq and Harti tribes. Of course, like any where else there are land disputes in Eragbo, but that is about it. So, I fail to understand the conflicts that you are talking about.

Keep the peace.

Dalmar, since you are from Ogaden region, you only speak from the clannish indoctrination that you have had, and which seems to have worked so well it creates a huge gap between your illusion and reality of the city. As long as you rely on biased second hand information without first-hand experience or knowledge at hand, you will be often be under the illusion.
I came from the city a year ago. There is no clan that predominantly controls the city and they work with each other so well that even other sub tribes of either Warsangeli, Isaaq or Dhulbahante find themselves disengaged from their affairs or else it will be viewed as intervention.
How many incidents the city has had ever since the civil war started. For them, their clan war started in 1988 and ended 1992 until a compromise was concluded since the City has historically been ruled under the four-clan system and continues so.
Hargeisa is alien to them and their politics of secession. Elections do occur in some parts of the city because of the clan affiliation =Isaq but on the other part of the city, no one has ever voted, the consequence of which brings about the cost of lives lost and the city devastated. They had such repercussions.
The rest of Sanaag districts= 80% of the land mass is peaceful and prosperous. From Erigavo to the border near Xudun district to all the way Bossasso, a land with the size of three regions of your west combined.
